Midnight Sun Movie Review
Synopsis: Sheltered since childhood, 17-year-old Katie Price lives with a life-threatening sensitivity to sunlight. Her world opens up after dark when she ventures out to play her guitar for random travelers. One night, Katie encounters Charlie, a young man she's secretly admired for years. As fate leads to a budding romance, Katie desperately tries to hide her condition from her unsuspecting new beau.
Initial Thoughts: I half expected this movie to be mid, another "romance" movie with one dimensional characters, that do not undergo any change or character arc, rather a character loop. There were one dimensional characters, like Katie's best friend, can't remember her name and won't even bother to look it up. We didn't really learn much about her and I understand the story isn't about her but they didn't even hint at her having a life outside Katie, like they did with Charlie.
But I was surprised to see the movie was way better than I expected, usually I expect greatness and get disappointed, then I expect disappointment and get disappointed. But this... The story was beautiful, the chemistry between Bella Thorne and Patrick Schwarzenegger's characters made me feel single and thought I was gonna die alone at 14.
Final Thoughts: The storyline, the characters and acting were good. I'd recommend the movie and would happily, at first, rewatch the movie then end up crying at the end.
Conclusions: I'd rate this movie a 6/10.
